Air strikes on LI bases leave 13 dead |

[DAWN] Thirteen suspected Lions of Islam were killed in air strikes on their hideouts in Bara on Saturday and in apparent retaliatory gun attacks two soldiers bit the dust. Officials said that helicopter gunships and military planes targeted the banned Lashkar-e-Islam ...a group of Islamic bandidos infesting Khyber Agency. It's headed by a former bus driver.... group's bases in Nala-Malikdin Khel, Akkakhel and Sipah areas, leaving 13 suspected Lions of Islam dead and eight injured. Five hideouts were destroyed. Independent sources said that five soldiers suffered injuries in gun-battles in different parts of Bara. Three were identified as Hawaldar Mushtaq, Naib Subedar Imran and Naik Usman. Meanwhile, ...back at the cheese factory, there was only one thought in the mouse's mind: I can do this! I can do this!Then the trap sprung... two soldiers were rubbed out in different incidents in Bara and Tirah. |
