| Taliban Kills 10 Civilians in Paktia |

| [Tolo News] Taliban Provincial Police Chief Zalmai Oriakhail, while confirming the incident, said that the people were killed in Zurmat district of the province. Oriakhail not providing more details, said that the police have started investigations. The provincial front man Rohullah Samon said the bodies were found Thursday morning. "The incident took place on Wednesday night in Mamozai area of Zurmat district," Samon said. "The dead bodies were found Thursday morning." According to Samon, five of the men killed were from the province of Khost ...which coincidentally borders North Wazoo and Kurram Agency... , four from Paktia and one other from Pashtun-infested Logar province. He added that the bodies have been taken to a nearby hospital, but no one has come forth to identify the bodies. The Taliban, in a statement, grabbed credit for the killings stating that the men were local coppers. |
