U.S. lawmaker: Europe security gaps fuel 'jihadi superhighway'
2014-11-13
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] European security shortcomings have created a "jihadi superhighway" allowing countless battle-hardened Islamic bully boyz to return from Syria, a top U.S. politician warned Wednesday.

"Security gaps in Europe -- and Turkey in particular -- make it easier for them to return to the West undetected," House Homeland Security Committee chairman Michael McCaul said in an op-ed for Time Magazine.

He pointed to reports that 1,000 fighters monthly, including many westerners, were pouring into the conflict zone to join the Islamic State

#1  Not sure those security gaps aren't intentional. For every 1000 fighters heading to Syria there are 1000 potential fighters leaving Europe. Some certainly won't return. And if Europe had any sense, the 'gaps' would be one-way valves.
