GOP congressman rules out impeaching Obama because -- 'Have you met Joe Biden?'
2014-11-15
[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK]
  • Trey Gowdy said his party can't impeach the president over his threatened immigration overhaul -- but only because Biden would become president
  • The folksy Biden wants the top job for himself but Republicans see him as a potentially embarrassing one-man gaffe factory
  • One senior House GOP aide said Biden is 'two floppy shoes short of a complete clown outfit' and Obama's 'insurance policy'
  • Gowdy hinted that impeachment is being dangled by the White House as bait in the hope that the GOP will destroy its own credibility by trying it
  • A Texas Republican congressman and a judge-turned-news-analyst floated the idea this week

#17  Damn this iPad is getting vindictive.

#16  Ha need 66 Senators to override a vetoe, not going to happy on any bill.

#15  Somebody throw Biden under the bus first.
Well, but then we get Boner.

#14  That "two floppy shoes" crack is pure gold. Well done sir, well done.

#13  I'm thinking there's gotta be enough dirt on enough Dem senators to convince them to override or impeach to save their own skins.

#12  Oh, btw, please check my math, but 'Pubs now have 53 seats with LA on the way = 54.

60 votes over-ride a Presidential Veto.

If the 'Pubs can swing 5 and if Smokin' Joe gets a little vindictive or ambitious, well, interesting things await.

#10  Now O gets isolated and neutralized. Now something else positive needs to be done. Make a budget. Make it 5% less than last year. Submit it to the Senate. Pass it. Send to Obama. Let him veto. Have a meeting. Make changes but keep it at 5% less. Submit it to O. The bottom line: keep the total 5% less than last years spending. If you can override O's veto, great. Would be nice. Then next year is 5% less than this year. Keep doing this.

#9  It is very tempting to break the rules.

#8  I hope yours is the strategy which is employed AP.

#7  Isolate O like they did with Pablo Escobar. Tie up his czars and cabinet members. Make O toxic to associate with. There is plenty of material out there that is truth.

O will play the race and victim card with an impeachment and trial, which will go nowhere. Isolate and neutralize him, like Rabaul and Truk and let him wither on the vine.

#6  The best idea I've heard is that the GOP should try and remove all of the affiliated cabinet secretaries that have aided and abetted Obola's crimes.

Keep the regime busy with summons, discovery and trials for the next 2 years while pushing the legislative agenda up to Zero for his vetos.

#5  "Gowdy hinted that impeachment is being dangled by the White House as bait in the hope that the GOP will destroy its own credibility by trying it."

Let the Donks think this is a possibility--just don't trumpet this to all 57 states. Leave the possibility just dangling out there--keep em guessing. Impeachment, although tempting, is not going anywhere--not enough votes in the senate to convict so why waste time. There are better things to do.

#4  ...Hell, we've known that since '08.

Another problem - and this is IMHO - is that Biden will fold worse than a kids' origami class when faced with a resolute opponent. There is a story from the late milblogger Neptunus Lex about how he had to deal with Biden one very bad evening many years ago - short version is that Lex, in the course of his duties as a naval officer, had to tell Biden to sit down and shut up...and so Biden did. Politicos on both sides of the aisle know Biden has no guts...and the last thing we would need after an impeachment is somebody like that, because the vultures would be circling.

#3  Never disarm in face of such an opponent. Appeasement. You'll certainly get tyranny given the narcissistic ego maniac you have. Keep it alive and on the table.

#2  Betcha you won't be able to just wait him out---you ain't seen crazy yet.

#1  At this point I'd take Biden. Gowdy is correct however. Impeachment is a dangling trap intended to create 'Ferguson' distractions across the land.
