#6  The picture in the article is not a P-8 - it is an Air Farce bird. If I had to guess, I would say it is some kind of an ELINT plane.

#5  Suspect that the MAD is much smaller than that of the P3C's, and probably also retractable. Have not read a lot about the bird, very low key. And it is NOT a converted 737; it is a new build version of the 37. Same as the 737-900 is a 'conversion' of a 737-300.

#2  Hmm. This article contradicts all the other articles I've read on the subject. The other articles say there's no MAD because this plane is fuel inefficient when flying searches at low altitude, unlike the P3. Instead it will rely on long range sonobuoys dropped from a normal cruising altitude.
