Policeman Killed in Shebab Attack in North Kenya |

[AnNahar] A Kenyan policeman was rubbed out and another seriously maimed in a new attack by suspected Shabaab The shooting, which occurred near the Dadaab refugee camp, came a week after the al-Qaeda-affiliated Somali rebels executed 28 civilians in the far northeast. "The attackers were on foot, and trailed the officers for about 100 meters (yards) before firing at them at a close range," regional police official Musa Yego said. He said the attackers were thought to be Shabaab members or sympathizers, adding they disappeared into a refugee camp. Last Saturday the Shabaab seized a bus heading from the far northeastern border town of Mandera for the capital Nairobi, executing 28 non-Moslem passengers in what they said was Dire Revenge for police raids on mosques in the troubled port of Mombasa. Kenya has suffered a series of attacks since invading Somalia in 2011 to attack the Islamists. |
