Three Soldiers Killed in Yemen 'Qaida' Bomb Attack |
2014-12-20 |
[AnNahar] A suspected al-Qaeda kaboom killed three Yemeni soldiers and maimed five others Friday, a military source said, the second attack in days on security forces in Yemen's southeastern Hadramawt province. An bomb planted in the town of Seyun exploded remotely as a vehicle carrying army personnel passed by, the source said. Three soldiers were killed on Wednesday in a similar bombing west of Seyun. Security forces are often the target of deadly attacks, which are usually blamed on al-Qaeda Death Eaters, who are active in the violence-wracked country. Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula ...the latest incarnation of various Qaeda and Qaeda-allied groups, including the now-defunct Aden-Abyan Islamic Army that boomed the USS Cole in 2000... is considered by Washington as the jihadist network's most dangerous affiliate. |
