Saudi Arabia beheads 12th Pakistani in two months for heroin smuggling
2014-12-26
[DAWN] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
on Thursday beheaded a Pak man for heroin smuggling, the twelfth person from Pakistain to be executed in the kingdom for drug trafficking since mid-October.

They are among 85 foreigners and Saudis put to death this year in the oil-rich kingdom, according to an estimated tally.

Saudi Arabia has one of the world's highest execution tolls.

The sentence against Ismail Khan Sayed was carried out in Eastern Province after his conviction for smuggling "a large amount" of heroin, the Interior Ministry said in a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency.

#7  Yep, decriminalise it. It's the best way to make sure the drugs enable people to live their lives safely.

#6  Unfortunately, the users aren't chop-chopping themselves. Just making themselves a burden and a cost to the society around them in the long run. The suppliers and middlemen don't want to kill their revenue generators. They want to keep the money flowing (at any expense as long as there is a profit). They don't care if the user generates the money from 'free enterprise' or from government subsidizes. Money is money to them.

#5  Woodrow, if all the right people are correct, then users are chop-chopping themselves. Why intervene, except for the cheap thrill of misplaced do-goodery?

#4  Yep, sort of like just going after the mules and not the cartel leadership isn't it.

#3  They should try chop-choping a few jihadi preachers instead

#2  Only if we chop-chop users as well. Regardless of social standing and status, of course.

#1  Might curb the narco demand a bit if we had a 'chop-chop' square here in the States.
