| 5-year-old boy raped by police in Jawzjan province |

| [Khaama (Afghanistan)] A 5-year-old boy was sexually abused by an Afghan policeman in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan, local officials said Wednesday. The officials further added that the child was raped by the policeman on Tuesday evening. Head of the Criminal Investigation Department in provincial police commandment Mohammad Rahim said the suspect has been placed in durance vile Into the paddy wagon wit' yez! and is currently in the custody of police for further investigation. According to Rahim, the family of the victim has claimed that the child was threatened by the policeman not to inform his family regarding the incident. This was the rape incident reported in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan within the past one week. A woman was raped by her brother in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan late on Sunday night. The victim was identified as Farzana who is only 17-year-old woman and was living in her fathers house since her husband had passed away last year. According to the local government officials, incidents involving rape of women and kiddies have been rampant in this province during the recent months. |
