#5  SSDD.

Had an "interesting" episode with the Feds. Last week. Had to call Medicare since the first card I got was incorrect.

Called the number,
After listening to a stupid, long CIT spiel,
Told me to call SocSec.
Called SocSec number listened to long CIT spiel (do I really have to listen to details on the enabling legislation with an option to hear more?)
Finally get a real person (very nice) who says "Oh, we hear about this trouble all the time".
Says she'll send me a new form with a return envelope.

In 5 business days I got the form!
It was a photocopy of a form AND had been filled out BY HAND............THE RETURN ENVELOPE (not stamped) WAS ALSO HAND WRITTEN!!!

I signed as necessary, put on a stamp, put it in the mail ............... AND HAD A LARGE DRINK!

#4  It is the same strategy the Park Service does when threatened with budget cuts: they close the Washington Monument. The IRS is doing the same thing: cutting service so people will complain to their Congress critters.

#3  If you call the IRS, expect 2 hour wait times before talking to a live person (and I use that trerm loosely).

#2  caught doing multiple illegal partisan acts and erasing required records, the IRS gets punished with budget restraints. Therefore they refuse to do their legally required tasks. There needs to be a purge at that agency. Start at the top and work your way down. Remove pensions for illegal activities. When they say "morale is low", say "don't do crimes against the citizens"

#1  Earned Income Tax Credit explained:

Busy at the widget factory? How can that be, no one is buying widgets these days? Oh, they are no longer actually selling widgets, but simply giving them away. That explains it.
