Andrew Cuomo Rebukes Teachers Unions: 'Don't Say You Represent the Students'
2015-01-26
Seasoned, multi-generational pols don't just out of the blue torch an organization consisting of their most loyal and red-pencil-armed myrmidons.

Mr. Coumo reads the tea leaves about the latest sea-change in American politics.

#9  Is Andrew the one who is looking over his shoulder about federal corruption charges that may or may not be on the way?

He's in hot Federal water because he shut down a state commission that was supposed to be investigating corruption charges. So yes, there's that, plus other possible things coming down.

#8  I remember when the head of the teachers union in New York was asked about the welfare of the students if there was a strike. He replied "I'll worry about the students when students start paying union dues." His name was Albert Shanker.

#6  It begins.

Actually, it's been going on since de Blasio (who's willingly in the teachers' union pocket and is no fan of charter schools) started campaigning to be Da Mayor of NYC.

#5  Someone should tell the UAW that they don't represent car buyers either.

However both do represent a fundamental funding stream to the Inner Party.

#4  Next week, he will be towing that broken down train over the broken bridge again with the overpaid engineers.

And everyone will still be stupider for the simple fact that his party owns all of this stupidity from the cradle to the grave.

#3  Very interesting.

If it is going on here in Californicate, the media as usual is keeping a lid on it. Just like they do when they NEVER EVER report on what is going on in the state assembly.

Every January it is this vast gasp and surprise from the media as they react to the new tax, the new crazy crap program, or the new white elephant program.
