US vetoed Israeli sale of attack helicopters to Nigeria
2015-01-26
The Obama administration last year vetoed an agreement between Israel and Nigeria whereby Jerusalem would sell US-made Cobra helicopters to the African nation, The New York Times reported on Monday.

Washington blocked the transaction due to concerns that the Nigerian government was not doing enough to avoid civilian casualties in its war against the Boko Haram jihadist organization.
I'm sure the people of Baga would concur with WH
If only Champ and the White House were concerned about the civilian casualties caused by Boko Haram...

#4  Not doing enough to avoid civilian casualties is not an unreasonable demand. Or at least it wasn't last year.

Me thinks the Nigerian government and Israeli's should have tried again during the "give back our girls" hashtag conflict of 2014.

#3  Factor in Joe of the Jungle's remark about the US pulling intel and other support from Philippine forces doing anti-MILF ops in Mindanao, and one has to wonder if it's "human rights" or some other... concern.

#1  Huh? "You're not doing enough, so we're not going to give you any more tools to do more"?

Sounds almost like progressive logic.
