Iraq receives new batch of Mi-28 helicopters | |

Baghdad -- Iraq has taken delivery of a new batch of Mil Mi-28NE ‘Havoc’ (Night Hunter) attack helicopters, as well as additional Mil Mi-35M ‘Hind’ assault helicopters, as stated by the Ministry of Defense. The helicopters arrived in-country aboard Antonov An-124 ‘Condor’ transport aircraft.

#3 I would agree that in the hands of the Iraqis, Russian equipment makes more sense. The Russian stuff is designed for harsh conditions and lousy maintenance, dirt, rocks, mud, and indifference. The US made stuff actually needs a real mechanic while the Russian stuff could be maintained by a 5-year old with a can opener and a good supply of duct tape. |

#1 An existing Russian contract, perhaps not too unlike the NASA's Russian booster rocket or existing nuclear R&D and construction contracts with Iran. Washington putting people to work in the other Red States. |
