Palestinian shot in Hebron after grabbing soldier's gun
2015-02-06
[MAANNEWS.NET] Israeli forces shot and injured a Paleostinian man in Hebron on Thursday evening after he attempted to grab a soldier's gun, Israel's army said.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said the man was shot in the lower extremities after trying to grab a soldier's gun near the illegal settlement of Kiryat Arba.

Israeli media said the unidentified man was treated at the scene for moderate injuries and taken to the Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem.

A 1997 agreement split Hebron into areas of Paleostinian and Israeli control.

The Israeli military-controlled H2 zone includes the ancient Old City, home of the revered Ibrahimi Mosque -- also split into a synagogue referred to by Jews as the Cave of the Patriarchs -- and the once thriving Shuhada street, now just shuttered shops fronts and closed homes.
Ynet adds a key detail that Ma'an News failed to note:
A Paleostinian man was shot in his lower limbs on Thursday evening after attempting to grab an IDF soldier's weapon in Hebron while yelling "Allahahu Akbar."
