Syrian warplanes attack civilians in Deir ez-Zor
2015-02-11
[ARA] Two non-combatants were killed and several others injured due to aerial bombardment by warplanes loyal to Syrian president Bashir al-Assad on the town of al-Bu Omar in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor province, in eastern Syria, locals reported on Tuesday.

Speaking to ARA News in Deir ez-Zor, civil rights activist Fayez Abdulaziz said that pro-Assad military forces targeted residential buildings in the town with steric missiles, killing two women and injuring several other civilians.

"The injured were transferred to the field hospital in the town," he added.

Abdulaziz said that the attack followed similar bombing in the town on Monday, killing one civilian and wounding four others.

Meanwhile,

the pro-regime warplanes targeted al-Jafra village adjacent to the military airport of Deir ez-Zor. No casualties reported.

"Also, fierce festivities broke out between turbans of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. (IS/ISIS) and the pro-regime forces near the military airport of Deir ez-Zor, without receiving information about losses," Abdulaziz told ARA News.

On Monday, the pro-regime snipers ‐stationed on the Furat al-Sham hotel‐ injured three civilians in the city of Janina, in western Deir ez-Zor, which led to festivities between IS holy warriors and the pro-regime forces in the area, local sources told ARA News.

In the meantime, the Islamic State group closed the water crossing of al-Janina village (which is linked to the regime-held neighborhood of al-Jura), after preventing civilians from entering areas and neighborhoods held by the pro-regime forces.
