St James Infirmary in Tripoli closes due to worsening security situation |
2015-02-16 |
[Libya Herald] St James, the private sector Maltese clinic in the Ben Ashour district of Tripoli, has closed down indefinitely due to the worsening security situation in Libya. I went down to St. James Infirmary, The chief executive of the St James group, Josie Muscat, told Malta Today that they were ordered by the Maltese government to cease operations. St James had only one remaining Maltese citizen in Libya. Saw my baby there, Muscat lamented the fact that his company had taken out some loans in order to expand its operations in Libya. Stretched out on a long white table, The St James closure comes at a time when the Italian embassy finally succumbed to the seriously deteriorating situation in Libya by closing its Tripoli embassy down. So cold, so sweet, so fair. Today, Maltaâ€'s Prime Minister Joseph Muscat had called for military UN intervention in Libya so as to prevent it from becoming a "€™failed state." He had also called upon any remaining "obstinate"€™ Maltese citizens remaining in Libya to return home. Let her go, let her go, God bless her, It will be recalled that Malta had shut down its embassy back in November 2014 and the consulate in August. Wherever she may be, She can look this wide world over, But she'll never find a sweet man like me. |
