| Historic Sufi shrine obliterated in Tripoli |

| [Libya Herald] Another historic Sufi shrine was bombed in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... yesterday, an occurrence that is becoming somewhat common in Libya. The Sheikh Sayd shrine in the Shat Al-Henshir area of Suq Al-Juma was destroyed by unknown assailants this morning. Sheikh Sayd arrived in Tripoli near the beginning of the Ottoman period. He died in the year 1640 and was buried in the shrine in Suq Al-Juma. |
