The state-run National News Agency reported that Ali Abed al-Awad (41) and Awad Mohammed al-Ali (19) were detained in the area of Buwaiti in the village of Kfarjoz in the southern province of Nabatieh. The two detainees confessed during investigations of taking part in the fighting in Syria, where they joined the ranks of the Islamic group. A number of people have in recent months been charged with belonging to ISIL and other turban organizations. The army and security forces have been cracking down on suspects wanted on terrorism charges. |
