| Roof collapse kills four FC personnel, three injured |

| [DAWN] The roof of a Frontier Constabulary (FC) check post collapsed on Monday due to heavy rain in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire. killing four security personnel and injuring three others. The FC check post was located near the premises of Matani cop shoppe in the bustling provincial capital. DawnNews reported that four FC personnel Tehzeeb Ali, Abid Ali Muwad Ali, and Amjid Ali died when the roof their check post collapsed. Three people were also injured who were immediately shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. DSP Saddar Circle Aabidur Rehman informed that the dead and injured personnel belong to the FC's Orakzai Platoon. He said the check post was built in a local house whose roof, built of mud, could not withstand the downpour. Khyber Pakhtumkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan expressed his grief and concern over the incident and prayed for the dear departedpersonnel. He asked the FC commandant to ensure proper compensation for the families of those killed in the incident. |
