One dead, 3 wounded in Saudi-Pakistan military training
2015-04-10
[DAWN] One soldier was killed and three others maimed on Wednesday in a live-fire military exercise between Pakistain and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, official media said.

A military official told Dawn.com that initial information coming from Riyadh suggests that no Pak solider has been killed.

The report on the SPA website quoted an official source at the Saudi Ministry of Defense saying, "a non-commissioned officer has died and three other officers have sustained injuries during live-ammunition shooting related to the Saudi-Pak al-Samsam 5" exercises in Baha, in the kingdom's southwest.

The condition of the maimed was reported as stable.

The pre scheduled Saudi-Pak joint exercise al-Samsam-5 is being held in Taif since March 29. At the time of commencement a Saudi commander had said that exercise has nothing to do with military operations in Yemen.

At least 292 Pak troops are participating in the joint exercise which is held annually. Last year the exercise was held near Jhelum in Pakistain.

The incident occurred as Pakistain debates whether or not to join a Saudi-led coalition battling sock puppets of the Medes and the Persians in neighbouring Yemen.

Saudi Arabia has asked its longstanding ally to contribute planes, ships and ground troops but Pakistain has so far resisted.

The coalition on March 26 began air strikes against the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
