| Number of ISIS elements in Nineveh less than 5,000, says Osama Najafi [IraqiNews.com] The Deputy President of the Republic Osama Najafi announced Wednesday, that the number of ISIS elements in Nineveh province doesn't exceed 5,000 elements, while pointed out that only 3% of the province's residents joined the terrorist group's ranks, confirming that six parties will participate in the military operation to liberate the province. Nujaifi said in press statements, "The forces that will participate in the operation to liberate Nineveh are the Iraqi army forces (military teams have been prepared specifically for this task), forces of the federal police, local police forces (15,000 elements), the national Volunteer Fighters forces, the Kurdish Peshmerga and the international coalition." The source, who requested anonymity, added, "The purpose of re-installing landlines is to curb the people's anger after cellphones and contacts between the people of Nineveh and other provinces were banned.
