[BBC] Italian police say they have locked awayKeep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! 15 Moslem migrants after they allegedly threw 12 Christians overboard following a row on a boat headed to Italia. The Christian migrants, said to be from Ghana and Nigeria, are all feared dead. In a separate incident, more than 40 people drowned after another migrant boat sunk between Libya and Italia. Almost 10,000 migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean have been rescued in recent days. Italia has called for more help from the EU to handle the crisis.
According to a group of Nigerian and Ghanaian survivors, a fight broke out over religion, with a group of Moslem passengers threatening the Nigerians and Ghanaians after the latter -- who were in the minority -- declared themselves to be Christians. | |
