| Kurds intensify anti-ISIS operations in Syria’s Hasakah |

| On Tuesday the Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) launched an extensive assault in the countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in an attempt to eradicate militants of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) in the province of Hasakah, in northeastern Syria, military sources said. Speaking to ARA News, A.B., a YPG fighter in Sere Kaniye’s frontline said (under the condition of anonymity) that the Kurdish forces mobilized some 380 fighters into the anti-IS major frontline, aiming at breaking into IS-held positions and fortifications in the southern countryside of the city of Sere Kaniye in the province of Hasakah. |
