14 Military Operations Underway Across Afghanistan: MoD
2015-04-25
[Tolo News] Afghan military forces are engaged with 14 operations around the country, clashing with forces of Evil in nine provinces, officials from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Friday.

The counter-insurgency clearing operations are being conducted in Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
, Ghazni, Paktika
...which coincidentally borders South Wazoo...
, Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
, Kunar, Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
, Faryab, Kunduz and other parts of the country, MoD front man Dawlat Waziri said.

"Right now, we have 14 operations in nine provinces of the country, some which were planned and several still ongoing," Waziri said. "In Moqur district of Ghazni province, in which 37 forces of Evil were killed and 26 other injured, seven masked gunnies were also among the dead [...] and we don't have any casualties so far."

The operations come after months of deteriorating security around the country, with a deadly Daesh-claimed suicide kaboom in Nagarhar province and a high-profile ambush on Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers in Badakhshan province. The government has received criticism for not taking more decisive and strategic action against bully boy groups sooner.

"We are concerned that if the central government does not take action quickly regarding security in Kunduz, soon, the forces of Evil will take the control of this province," Kunduz MP Fatema Aziz said on Friday.

On Thursday night, Kunduz Police Chief Abdul Saboor Nasrati said Taliban forces of Evil attacked a number of security posts in the province and clashed with the security forces for several hours, ultimately leaving two coppers and 22 forces of Evil dead.

Meanwhile,
...back at the chili cook-off, Chuck and Manuel's rivalry was entering a new and more dangerous phase...
officials in Faryab province also said that forces of Evil attacked military outposts on Thursday night. "Four enemies have been killed in the attack and three other of them were maimed," Provincial Police Chief Mohammad Nabi Elham said.
