2015-04-28 |
[The Nation] A soldier was killed and another slightly hurt when a roadside bomb exploded yesterday in Pattani province. The homemade bomb exploded as a six-man army patrol was passing on foot. Master Sergeant First Class Nipon Niyomchai was injured in his torso and both legs, and later died from excessive bleeding. Militants also planted a pipe bomb two meters from the scene, but it was discovered and defused. Police suspect the attack was carried out by militants to mark the 11th anniversary of the Krue Se Mosque incident. |
