| Iraqi joint forces begin assault on ISIS in Tal-Garad and Baiji |

| (IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – On Tuesday, Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced, that the security forces have begun an offensive operation against ISIS militants in the areas of Tal-Garad and Baiji’s refinery to liberate areas of vital importance and secure the road which leads to the refinery. The Interior Ministry spokesman, Maj. Gen. Saad Moen, stated in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “A joint force, consisting of Special Operations forces and Federal Police elements backed by al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia fighters, had carried out an offensive operation against ISIS sites in the areas of Tal-Garad and Baiji’s refinery to liberate the road that leads to the refinery,” noting that, “The operation resulted in killing 20 terrorists and the destruction of two armored vehicles.” |
