[BBC] A court has handed ousted president Mohammed Morsi a death sentence over a mass prison break in 2011. Egypt's former leader has already been sentenced to 20 years in jail for ordering the arrest and torture of demonstrators during his rule.Death sentences must first be sent to the Grand Mufti for his opinion on whether they should stand. Convictions are still open to appeal, even if the Grand Mufti gives his approval.
