Texas to re-patriate state-owned gold from NY & to build its own Fort Knox
2015-06-14
12 June 2015: The governor of Texas signed House Bill 483 to establish a state gold bullion depository administered by the Office of the Comptroller. The law will repatriate $1 billion of gold bullion from the Federal Reserve in New York to Texas.
Gov's statement:
Today I signed HB 483 to provide a secure facility for the State of Texas, state agencies and Texas citizens to store gold bullion and other precious metals. With the passage of this bill, the Texas Bullion Depository will become the first state-level facility of its kind in the nation, increasing the security and stability of our gold reserves and keeping taxpayer funds from leaving Texas to pay for fees to store gold in facilities outside our state.

#7  I'm glad to see TEXAS taking such precautionary steps, espec given that the so-called "AMERICAN DREAM" of the last Century will very soon be the OWG GLOBALIST "NORTH AMERICAN/AMERIKAN DREAM" of the 21st Century, wid Mexico + Canada + Greenland all seemingly or ideally getting par responsibilities for NORAM Security + Econ Prosperity, etc. NOT JUST THE US.

#6  also note: State of Texas, state agencies and Texas citizens to store gold bullion and other precious metal.

In case the feds try to revoke the ability to own gold again?

#5  I see this as not only a move to keep Texas money in Texas, but a hedge bet if the Union comes apart.

#4  This is also local politics - keep Texas tax money in Texas (instead of paying it to NY bankers).

#3   First step to "Nationhood" ?

No...maybe the first step in insuring statehood. $1B USD in gold is still a LOT of gold, and Texas having it under their own lock and key instead of that of the Feds insures that they have the clout to say 'no' about some things:

"We're the Federal Government; do what we say or we cut off X amount of money."

Texas (after checking the vault): "Suck it."
