2015-06-25
[ARA] At least 17 Death Eaters of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group (IS/ISIS) were reportedly killed in battles with the Kurdish forces in Ain Issa town of Raqqa province, northeastern Syria, military sources reported on Tuesday.

The Media Center of the People's Protection Units (YPG) issued Tuesday a statement, of which ARA News received a copy, saying their units liberated several villages north of Raqqa, including Bajaliya, and destroyed an IS-led boom-mobile in the village of Tel al-Hamama (where Turkmen constitute majority) with two gunnies inside.

"Our units also liberated the villages of Shiradi, Aghlik, Hoshin, Sherdik, Almnad, al-Inad, Masoura, Khalidiya, Sersuh, Oudiya, Awedana Oula and Awedana Thaniya," the Kurdish YPG leadership said.

On Monday, the Kurdish forces took over "Brigade 93″ and then the entire town of Ain Issa, in addition to the killing of 15 IS Death Eaters and the destruction of six military vehicles loaded with heavy machine guns, according to the YPG's statement.

Speaking to ARA News, media front man of Burkan al-Furat (a YPG ally), Shervan Darwish, reported that the joint forces (YPG and Burkan al-Furat rebels) cleared the streets of Ain Issa town from IS remnants.

"A large part of Raqqa's countryside is liberated by our fighters and allied YPG. We are determined to eliminate this terrorist group," Darwish said.

The YPG's leadership pointed out that two of their fighters bit the dust in festivities with IS Death Eaters in the town of Ain Issa, before the Kurdish forces and allied rebels took over the town.
