[Bangkok Post] Two assistant village leaders were seriously hurt by a motorcycle gunman in Narathiwat province late Sunday night.The chief investigator at Rangae district police station said the attack occurred on a road near the mosque of Lubo Batu village. Two security affairs assistants to the chief of Lubo Batu, were heading home on a motorcycle when they were followed by two men on another motorcycle. Near the mosque, the pillion rider shot at them twice. Both victims were hit in the left arm and leg.
Police are still investigating, but believe insurgents were responsible.
