Turkey seeks support in tackling threats

[Aljazeera] NATO ambassadors hold rare emergency meeting to review threat ISIL poses to Turkey amid country's tensions with Kurds.

[AlJazeera] The recent spate of attacks on Turkish soil heightens concern for its stability. NATO ambassadors have held a rare emergency meeting to review the threat ISIL poses to Turkey.

It called the meeting to talk about the growing instability on its southern border. Up until now, Turkey has been reluctant to get involved in the US-led coalition fight against ISIL. However, things have changed. Now Turkey is launching attacks inside Syria against ISIL and in northern Iraq against the Kurdish armed group, PKK.

It has also discussed a plan with the US to create a so-called buffer zone along its border with Syria.
Turkey has been trying to get NATO/the US/somebody to enforce that X kilometer buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border since President Erdogan broke up with his BFF Assad, Jr. I fail to understand why the vaunted Turkish army, however bereft of competent senior officers now languishing in the famed Turkish prisons, has not simply handled it themselves. Surely Turks can face down the Arab rabble that is ISIS, however well armed they might be.
But will it succeed in containing these threats? Or will it get further drawn into the conflict?

I'm figuring the Turkey will try to take the lead on a third posse of foul Muzzies joining up with ISIS and maybe Al-Q or some of the smaller loser groups.

#1  Erdogan gets all the help he gave the US when we wanted to land an infantry division and take on the northern and western parts of Iraq (coincidentally where the resistance was the worst and where ISIS is now running things) back when OIF kicked off - which is basically none.

Fuck you Erdogan and Turkey. Some of us remember.
