Sisi extends deployment of Egyptian armed forces involved in Yemen conflict

The question was asked the other day, how is Egypt involved with the situation in Yemen? Here is the answer.

According to the decree that was published in the Official Gazette, the Egyptian armed forces will continue their operations to protect Egypt and the Arab world's security in the Arabian Gulf area, the Red Sea and the Bab El-Mandab strait.

The presidential decree comes after the decision by the government on Saturday to extend the deployment of soldiers participating in the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen for another six months.

Egypt has been a part of the Saudi-led coalition against the Iranian backed Houthi

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives.
