2015-08-09
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 22 people were killed in an kaboom in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan earlier this evening, local officials said.

The incident took place in Khanabad district where a gathering of the local militia forces personnel was targeted.

Provincial police front man Sarwar Hussaini confirmed the incident and said at least 22 personnel of the local militia forces were killed.

The district administrative chief Hayatullah Amiri said a vehicle packed with explosives exploded near the gathering of the militia forces which left at least 22 dead including their four commanders.

No group including the Talibs has so far grabbed credit behind the incident.

According to reports, the local militia forces were occasionally fighting with the Talibs in Khanabad district.

Kunduz is among the volatile provinces in northern Afghanistan where anti-government armed krazed killer groups are actively operating and frequently carry out insurgency activities.
