| Girl Beaten in Open Court in Sar-e-Pul Province |

| [Tolo News] In a telephonic interview with TOLOnews, Assadullah Khurram, a member of Sar-e-Pul provincial council on Friday reported that a young girl and her father were beaten up by the head of the development council of Balkhab district in Toghi village after being accused of robbery. According to Khurram, the person who claimed his house had been robbed consulted a fortune teller who accused the man and his daughter of being involved in the crime. Brought before a council tribunal the father and daughter were then reportedly beaten in public by the head of the development council. Khurram stated that the head of the development council is now in police custody, however security officials so far have not commented on the incident. |
