| Four Abu Sayyaf militants escape from jail |

| [Gulf Today] Four Abu Sayyaf militants facing charges in court for murder and illegal drugs escaped from their jail cell on the island province of Basilan in Mindanao. Navy Commander Roy Vincent Trinidad identified the escapees as Muslimin Sayansan, Kayser Nassar, Bigman Boso, and Ganwas Hakim. Trinidad said, "They escaped from the city lock-up cell by cutting the iron grill of the ventilation window by using a hacksaw," Trinidad said, adding that charges were being prepared against the jail guards for the escape. |
