| Police station opens in Derna |

| [Libya Herald] After four years of having no law enforcement forces, the first cop shoppe in the eastern city of Derna opened today at a ceremony attended by the elders and members of the mujahideen, local sources have told the Libya Herald. The opening ceremony was held after a group of boy scout cleaned up and restored the building which had been set on fire during the Mujahideen-led uprising in June against the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... (IS) which had controlled the town for six months. Derna has continued to be targeted by IS forces, still based outside the town in the Fataiah farmland district to the south east. Earlier today, it again tried to re-enter it before being thwarted by the Mujahideen forces. |
