Gruesome video purports to show Afghan soldiers killing Taliban bomber
2015-08-24
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A gruesome video has gone viral in social media websites in Afghanistan which purportedly shows the execution of an alleged Taliban jacket wallah in southern Afghanistan.
Different rules of engagement are to be expected from such a different culture. We are told so often it is wrong to judge...
The video which has been widely shared in Facebook and Twitter websites, was reportedly filmed in the restive southern Zabul province.

A man is shown in the video with his hands tied behind his back among a group of individuals in Afghan army uniform who are holding guns used by Afghan army along with the armored vehicle.

Although the authenticity of the video has not been verified by the security institutions, it has been widely shared by social media subscribers and comes amid growing arbitrary executions of the individuals who have gone through desert courts, in the absence of proper justice system.

Numerous videos have been shared by the murderous Moslem groups during the recent months which mainly involves the Talibs and the newly emerged affiliates of the Islamic State

of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group in Afghanistan.

Recently a video was shared by ISIS affiliates which was claimed to be filmed in eastern Nangarhar

province, purportedly showing the horrific execution of ten men accused of apostasy.

The video shows the men are blown up into pieces after they were forced to sit on improvised bomb.

In the meantime, the officials in the Ministry of Defense (MoD) have said an investigation has been launched to ascertain the authenticity of the brutal execution of the alleged suicide bomber.

There are fears that the anti-government armed murderous Moslems have disguised in Afghan army uniforms and executed the individual in a bid to defame the Afghan army who are currently engaged in counterterrorism operations across the country amid deteriorating security situation.

The reactions by social media subscribers have mixed regarding the video with certain people welcoming the brutal execution of the alleged bomber while others have condemned the brutal act, insisting on trial of the alleged through the relevant institutions.

#6  Rob, I've been saying that for years. We should have been following the Geneva Conventions in Iraq: capture an illegal combatant, wring them dry of any useful intelligence, give them a summary court martial, followed by a firing squad.

#5  I wonder, would the same rule apply to 'journalists' who 'embed' themselves with terrorits?

#4  Summary execution of an unlawful combatant is perfectly fine by the Geneva Conventions. Arguably, it's required.

#1  Afhan soldiers seem to have the right idea. It goes back a long way to WWII, but there was a time when the U.S. addressed such problems in a similar way, e.g. after the massacre of U.S. GIs at Malmedy, German soldiers who committed the massacre were treated similarly.
