| Military court sentence 5 Muslim Brotherhood members to 15 years in jail |

| [AlAhram] An Alexandria military court sentenced five Moslem Brüderbund members to 15 years in jail for bombing railway tracks in Beheira governorate, reported Ahram Arabic website on Sunday. The prosecution had accused the defendants of several charges including the bombing of the railways, sabotaging a public facility and endangering people's lives. On 5 January 2015 the Cairo-Alexandria railway was bombed at a village close to the city of Damnhur in Beheira governorate, in the Nile Delta region. Hundreds of civilian cases have been referred to military court since the 2011 uprising that toppled veteran strongman Hosni Mubarak ...The former President-for-Life of Egypt, dumped by popular demand in early 2011... . The practice has faced strong opposition from rights campaigners and pro-democracy advocates. The Moslem Brüderbund was designated a terrorist organization in 2013, though they claim they are committed to peaceful activism. Hundreds of the groups' members have been killed and thousands put in jail following the ousting of Brotherhood president Mohammed Morsi in 2013. |
