U.S. Iran's 'No.1 Enemy' despite Nuclear Deal, Says Cleric
2015-09-02
Such lovely people our president made his agreement with.
[AnNahar] The United States remains Iran's "number one enemy" despite a recent nuclear deal with world powers, the chief of Tehran's top holy manal committee said on Tuesday, Iranian media reported.

The Assembly of Experts is among Iran's most influential institutions, comprising 86 elected holy mans who appoint and can dismiss the country's supreme leader.

It is led by the ultraconservative Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi.

The nuclear agreement should not "change our foreign policy" of opposition to America, "our number one enemy, whose crimes are uncountable", Yazdi said in a speech opening the annual two-day assembly meeting.

"The U.S. and Israel are the source of the situation in the region and (their) goal is to protect the Zionist regime in the Middle East," he was quoted as saying, blaming the two countries for the conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

Echoing Yazdi's remarks, the leader of the Islamic republic's top military force, the Revolutionary Guards, said the U.S. would always be "the Great Satanâ„¢".

"Do not be fooled by the new American language," General Mohammad Ali Jafari told news hounds.

"The hostility of the United States towards the Iranian people has not diminished, but actually increased... they use other methods," he added, according to the Guards website Sepah News.

President Hassan Rouhani, who as a holy man is also a member of the Assembly of Experts, took office in 2013 and has since reached out to the West for better relations.

The nuclear agreement reached on July 14 with six world powers -- Britannia, China, La Belle France, Russia, the United States and Germany -- has helped revive Iran's political standing with the European countries.

Several high-level European delegations have visited Tehran since the deal.

But despite the nuclear talks and the intricate role U.S. Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
played in getting the deal across the line, there is currently little prospect of normal relations.

The two countries severed ties in 1980 after the hostage taking of American diplomats by Islamist students.

#4  Amerikas' mighty Unitarian GOP-Dem establihsment in Washington has assured that, as per votes in favor of the Iran Nuke deal, IRAN is now officially Amerika's across-the-board BFF/BFRNF + par OWG Co-Superpower sibling.

* DRUDGEREPORT > [Financial Times] WARM WELCOME AWAITS "GREAT SATAN" [USA] IN TEHRAN. [Iran]CONSUMERS CRAVE US + WESTERN GOODS, ENDANGERING CHINESE + INDIA'S FOOTHOLD.

Yokay, I'll bite, WHERE'S PUTINIST RUSSIA'S CONSUMER GOODS IN ALL THIS???

versus

* FARS NEWS AGENCY, FREEREPUBLIC > COMMANDER: IRAN TO CONTINUE MILITARY ENHANCEMENTS UNTIL COLLAPSE OF ISRAEL.

* RELATED DEFENCE.PK/FORUMS > IRAN NEGOTIATING WID RUSSIA FOR [advanced] SUKHOI FIGHTER/MILITARY JETS.

OTOH, this does not remove the need for Co-Superpower Iran to acquire its own domestic or indigenous MilTechs expertise + Military-Industrial base.

"KNOWLEDGE IS FOREVER", CORRECT???

#3  Maybe is will convince some of the Senators who think 'this is the best deal we can get' to re-think their support of Champ's treaty agreement give-away.

#2  Of course Zero would make a deal with these people.

He considers the US his No. 1 enemy so there's a lot in common.
