Kenyan troops serving under African Union mission for Somalia (AMISOM) clashed with large number of Al Shabaab militants in village in Gedo region in south of Somalia.The clash erupted after 100 heavily armed Al Shabab gunmen launched an ambush attack on Kenyan mobile patrol-surveillance and reconnaissance (MPSR’s) units in Fahfahdhun area in Gedo region
Kenyan officials confirmed that at least 36 Al Shabaab fighters were killed and several others escaped with gunshot wounds during the ambush offensive. The Al Qaeda linked to Al Shabaab militants did not comment on the incident.
