| #1 This week, he scored his ultimate coup – over Congress. Faced with a majority of the House and Senate opposing the deal, Obama announced that if it did not pass when put to a vote in September, he would exercise his presidential veto power and force it down the throats of the American people. That's only because of the Corker bill. A presidential veto can not force the Senate to ratify a treaty. Any executive action in lieu of ratification could have been undone by a future President with a stroke of the pen. The AoE owes the Republican Congress as well. |
