Death Eater and her child were shot as the woman tried to turn herself in to the Iraqi Army, Anbar province officials said Monday.

"The woman who beat feet from her husband with her only son continued approaching the army checkpoint despite being shot, which resulted in injuring both of them," a senior officer in the Iraqi Army told Rudaw.

The woman reportedly escaped the jihadist organization in the ISIS-held city of Ramadi with her son and meant to turn herself in to authorities in the Hamriya district of Anbar.

"The family consists of a woman and her son. While they were trying to approach the army checkpoint to surrender, shots were fired in the fear they were jacket wallahs," added the officer who wished to remain anonymous.

They woman and her son were transferred to the hospital immediately, the officer added.
