Gun Battle Claims Four in Indian Kashmir |
2015-09-12 |
[ALMANAR.LB] Fighting in Indian-administered Kashmire killed two soldiers and two suspected persons Friday, as representatives from India and Pakistain met to discuss security on the disputed frontier. The deaths were the latest to occur in recent weeks, which have seen an upsurge in firing by both sides across the militarized border. Police claimed the fighting broke out late Thursday after the army received a tip-off that snuffies were in Laribal village, some 70 kilometers northwest of the main city of Srinagar. The firefight between both sides left two persons and two Indian soldiers killed. India regularly accuses Pakistain of arming and training what it called 'rebels' to infiltrate what it sees as its territory. Islamabad denies the allegation, saying it only provides diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination. News of the latest deaths came as Pak paramilitary officials met India's Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to discuss border security. |
