2 hurt in bomb blast in Egypt's capital

[WASHINGTONPOST] A bomb went kaboom! in a middle-class neighborhood in Cairo on Sunday, wounding two people, Egypt's state news agency MENA said.

The kaboom happened near a building with administrative offices for Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and caused minor damage to the structure. News Agency that Dare Not be Named video showed the busy street littered with broken glass and rubble immediately after the blast.

MENA quoted the Ministry of Health as saying the two victims were taken to a hospital but did not give their conditions.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

The blast took place near a foreign ministry building in Agouza, Cairo

Two policemen were injured on Sunday after a bomb exploded near a foreign ministry building in the Giza district of Agouza.

The target was Central Security Forces there, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported. The blast in Ahmed Orabi Street broke nearby car windows.

Civil defence forces and bomb disposal experts arrived at the scene to comb the area for more bombs, a security source said.

The Agouza prosecution also arrived at the scene to investigate the blast and the amount of explosives used.
