| LNA takes over Bridge 17 west of Janzour |

| [Libya Herald] Forces linked to the Libya National Army have taken over Bridge 17 on the coastal road, near the West Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... Power Station next to Janzour, and have set up a checkpoint there, according to sources in the capital. The move, which has cut the coastal road between Tripoli and the Tunisian border, happened late yesterday. The sources also claimed that the main militia in Janzour, the Fursan Janzour (Knights of Janzour), previously linked to Libya Dawn ...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar... , had accepted the presence of the LNA forces and was not intending to fight them because, without support of fighters from Misrata, it felt unable to oppose them. A source in Misrata, which pulled out its last forces from west of Tripoli last week, further indicated that LNA forces were now also at Zahra Bridge, near Azziziya, south of the capital. Other reports claim that the former naval academy at Janzour has been taken over by LNA forces, but there is no confirmation of this. However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... there are also reports of heavy fighting further west at Camp 27, the former Qadaffy-era base fought over by both Libya Dawn an the LNA and now largely in ruins. Despite the moves, the situation in the capital itself this evening was largely quiet, with less checkpoints than a few days ago. |
