| [DAWN] Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... : Two young men were rubbed out in as many incidents in the city on Monday evening, officials said. "Two suspects brought Nawab Ali, 35, to a place near a graveyard in Chashma Goth, fired at him and rode away," said Ibrahim Hyderi SHO Ahmed Sheikh. The victim was said to be an activist of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM). However, some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go... the SHO said that the victim's affiliation with any party was not confirmed till late in the night. He said the victim was a property dealer and lived in the Sharafi Goth area. The police collected two spent bullet casings of a 0.30-bore pistol. In a similar incident in Surjani Town, two men brought Ishaq Mushtaq, 27, on a cycle of violence and shot him dead on a road leading to Kaneez Fatima Society, said Surjani SHO Imtiaz Mirjat. The police collected four spent bullet casings fired from a 9mm pistol from the scene of the crime. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. |
