Ghulam Jilani Popal, the director of the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG), said changes and replacements in the government are key support effective governance.

He urged the Kabul residents to cooperate with Eng. Akram in maintaining security and fighting corruption considering the importance and geographical location of Kabul province.

The newly-appointed governor Eng. Akram promised to use all efforts to utilize the present capacities and opportunities for development and better governance in line with the IDLG policies.

Possessing higher education and experience in governance, Eng. Akram has previously served as head of protocol at the Presidential Palace.

In the meantime, head of the provincial chief for Kabul, Abdul Rahman Hashemi, urged Eng. Akram to put all efforts to create an appropriate environment for all sectors in this province.
