Pro-gov't source: Russians killed in Syria
2015-10-21
[Rudaw] At least three Russians have been killed in Syria alongside pro-government troops after their position near Latakia was shelled, according to a senior pro-government military source, Rooters is reporting.

If the claim is true, the deaths, which occurred Monday night, would be the first known instance of Russians being killed in Syria since Russia began Arclight airstrikes against anti-government forces in support of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Despoiler of Deraa...
on September 30.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights head Rami Abdulrahman told Rooters the deaths did occur, but he did not have an exact figure for how many. He also said he believed they were not Russian military personnel, but volunteers.

Rooters reported that the pro-government source, who is familiar with military events in Syria, said at least 20 Russians were at the post in the Nabi Younis area when the shell struck.

#8  Moscow is officially denying the report, likely due to discrepancies in Russian-specific casualty figures per various sources, e.g. UKRAINE INTEL SOURCE claiming that the bodies of 26 dead Russian Marines had quietly arrived in Sevastopal from Syria, NOT "THREE" DEAD RUSSIANS FROM SYRIA???

As per #7,

#7  Why should we have to get in the middle of that shit. Let Russia take care of it. Enough of our soldiers have died trying to atop the idiots of the middle east etcetera from killing each other. Not to mention the cost monetarily and for them to hate us in the end.

#6  Seems to me the Russians are doing the job we should be doing. The problem is, 0bean wants to have his cake and eat it too in the form of ISIS getting annihilated and Assad going into exile. Can't have both. Given the two choices, the answer is easy: ISIS must be completely crushed long before Assad rises to the top of the Pareto in this mess of a world that 0bean's "polices" have enabled.
