| Govt troops fend off Shaboobs in Moqokori |

| A military commander says heavily armed militants with Al shabaab have attacked Govt troops’ base in Moqokori village near Mahas town in Hiiraan region. Col. Mohamed Saney, a senior Somali army officer told Radio Shabelle that the militants managed to enter the city and engage in a gun battle with Somali troops in the area. “Gov’t forces in Moqokori town have repelled the attack and inflicted heavy losses on the militants who run away several dead bodies from the scene after the fighting,” said Col Mohamed Saney. Al shabaab did not issue comments about the attack and the claim of the military. |
