Heavily armed terrorists militants belonging to Al shabaab have launched an ambush attack on African Union troops in Lower Shabelle region of southern Somalia, an official said Thursday.
Confirming the attack to Radio Shabelle, the deputy commissioner of Kurtunwarey district Muhaydin Khalif Ali confirmed that Al shabaab terrorists waylaid AMISOM soldiers on patrol between Bulo-Mareer and Golwayn villages. It was immediately impossible to determine the casualties of the attack as the official did not elaborate.
Al shabaab terrorists has stepped up its hit and run attack against SNA and AMISOM troops in Lower Shabelle, a region that witnessed several deadly raids claimed lives of scores of AU peacekeepers in the past few months. |
